Student Group Discussion

The ACE centre is proud to offer bespoke sessions for those individuals with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH). These sessions are offered in small groups to provide the upmost support to our learners. These sessions are tailored to suit the abilities of each young person in the class, allowing them to develop their skills in a safe and supportive environment.

What is SEMH?

SEMH is a recognised category within the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) framework in the UK. It is not a diagnosis, but an educational descriptor used to identify children who require support to manage emotional distress, social difficulties, or mental health challenges.

What We Offer SEMH Learners

  • Improved Behaviour and Engagement: Structured interventions help students manage emotions, reduce defiance, internal exclusions, and school based avoidance issues

  • Emotional Literacy: Students develop skills to understand and express their emotions, resolve conflicts, bettering their chances of building positive relationships.

  • Support: Tailoring our SEMH sessions ensures those facing social disadvantages have access to education regardless of their circumstances.

  • Culture: Structured programs and consistency within our centre helps promote a healthy culture and environment for all of our learners with SEND backgrounds.
